The Apricots — Show Poster Series
Visual identity and poster design for a Portland-based band
I worked with The Apricots to develop a visual identity for their show posters — bright, bold color paired with expressive, 70s-inspired type, matching the warm, dreamy quality of their sound. Rather than build one template and reuse it, I treated each poster as its own piece, rooted in something specific to that show.
"Clouds" — January 10th
The band had recently written a song called "Clouds," so I built the poster's concept directly around it, turning the artwork into a companion piece for that specific song rather than a generic flyer.
Bend, Oregon
The lead singer's love of cobalt blue came up constantly during our conversations — it was practically her signature color. I made it the poster's dominant hue, tying the design to her as a person as much as to the band.
The Showdown
For this poster, I shifted the approach and centered a film photo of the band I'd taken myself — the first time their faces appeared in the series. It marked a more intimate turn in the identity as the collaboration deepened.
