Butch Threads — Vintage Resale Branding
Logo design for my own small business

I designed the logo for Butch Threads, my own vintage clothing resale business, and wanted the typography to reflect something personal: as a butch lesbian, I wanted to push back on the idea that butchness has to look hard or severe. The font needed to hold two things at once — soft and bold — because butch lesbians are allowed to be soft too. That tension shaped the wordmark: "Butch" is set in a bold cursive, letting the fluidity and grace of script carry real weight and confidence rather than reading as delicate. It's paired with a green palette, my favorite color, giving the mark warmth without losing presence.
